Hi I really worried I may have stomach cancer or colon cancer and need some advice

I been experiencing very bad bloating, feeling full all the time, really bad gas both ends lol. Also my bowel movements are OK but get constipated a bit. Also I get a very sharp pain in my stomach which moves to the middle of my chest when I hunch our after eating. Plus I get really bad aicid in the morning and reflux too

I had chemo last year for lymphoma so Its been a tough time for me and getting back to normal as any little thing make me worry now

I have had the all clear and I go to my appointment and blood test come back fine with liver and kidney working fine.

I just really worried as I don't want to have to go through it all again with something more serious

I know you guys are not doctor but I just need some advice / knowledge I'm 32 years young and I'm a non smoker

Just got batter by chemo last year

Hello and thanks for posting on the forum,

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling so worried.  I can understand that having had cancer may make you anxious about any new symptom.

Chemotherapy for lymphoma can be very harsh and it may well be that your body is still recovering from treatment last year.

You say that you have recently had blood tests that have all been normal.  That is good to hear.  When you saw the doctor I wonder whether he suggested any medication for your bloating and acid reflux?

I am not sure how often you are being followed up by your lymphoma team.  It might be helpful to get in touch with your haematology nurse to explain your different symptoms.  The charity lymphoma Action have some information about long term follow up which you can look at here.

There is a charity called Trek Stock   that helps young adults cope after a cancer diagnose.  It may help to connect with other people who have been through treatment.  Have a look at their details here

The charity Lymphoma Action also has support groups.  It may help to talk to other patients in a similar situation.  Have a look at their website here

I do hope that your symptoms get better soon. Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

Best Wishes,

Catherine
