Still bleeding nine weeks after bladder tumour removal

16 Apr 2019 10:53

Hi all.

I have Stage 2 Ewing's Sarcoma, I was diagnosed in December last year. My tumours are in the left side of my pelvis, my left thigh bone, my brain, the right hand side of the bottom of my back and the soft tissue on my right thigh. I also had a tumour in my bladder, up until 9 weeks ago when I had it removed.

They told me after I had my operation that I would bleed and have blood in my urine for 3 to 6 weeks but it's gone past that point now. Some days it's pink but some days it's bright red with little clots in. (Sorry, I know that's TMI)

I'm currently on my two week break from my treatment but since my operation, I've had to give several urine samples and they have been dip sticked for infection which have all been negative.

If anyone has any experience with this, please let me know.

Thank you

Hello and thanks for posting on the forum,

You do sound like you have been through a lot. As we are not looking after you and don't have access to your medical notes, the best advice we can give you is to either speak to your CNS (Clinical Nurse Specialist) or your GP (family doctor).  It maybe something that will settle down but it is always worth mentioning just in case it needs any further investigations.

There is a charity called Fight Bladder Cancer and it also has a forum of patients who have had similar surgery.  If you scroll down to the bottom of the information it has details. Have a look here

I do hope that this has been helpful. Do give us a ring if you would like to talk about this or if we can give you any more information and support.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

Best Wishes,

Catherine
