Smear Test Worries

Hey all, 

Back in October I was due my smear test. I went to get it done with a nurse but she couldn't find my cervix. She booked me in with the gp who said that there is something blocking the entrance to where the swab normally goes and a gap that is normally the size of a 2p is tiny, so she can't get the swab in to take a sample. She said it could be scar tissue from my c-section, but she isn't sure. 

She referred me to the hospital and my appointment is on Tuesday. I am really really worried about it. I don't know what they will do now, how they will get a sample and I am also obese, so I find it very embarrassing in general, but the thought of needing an anesthetic is worrying me as I know the risks are high for someone of my size. 

Has anyone had any experience with this?
