Should I go on holiday

10 May 2019 09:24

My 26 year old daughter was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer this week and we are waiting for her to have an MRI appointment next week to find out whether it has spread and what treatment she needs. I want to be there with her every step of the way, but have a weeks holiday booked next week. My daughter has said to go, but I feel torn between needing time out before the storm and feeling selfish about it to.

What should I do?

Hi there ...

No one can tell you what to do ... though l think it's a no brainer .. what would you regret more , not being there if the news isn't good ... or missing a holiday ... look into your heart ... the answer to your question is right there ...  ❤

I can see your dilemma, I’d say if your daughter doesn’t mind you having a break to be going on holiday I’d say go for it! But if you can visibly tell she’s really worried and would need you there I’d suggest stay with her Happy

Should I go on holiday

I went on a 2 week holiday 6 days after my mum was diagnosed.  Positive = it was a break (of sorts) and it could be a long exhausting journey.  Negative = it was unbearably difficult to be 3000 miles away from mum.  Good luck.
