I've been waiting for the results of a core biopsy and have received a letter giving me an appointment with hematology. I'm assuming this means I've got lymphoma but I don't know for sure but I'm not sure of any other reason I would need to see hematology. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Welcome to the forum, Annes74 although I'm sorry to hear about the reason that brings you here.
I can appreciate why you are concerned but try not to stress too much before you have a chance to speak to your doctors again. I know this is easier said than done but perhaps keeping your mind busy with other things might help. If you find that this is difficult though, feel free to phone our team of cancer nurses to ask them any question you may have, they are available on this number 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday, between 9 a.m - 5 p.m.
I hope all turns out well for you, Annes74 and that the reason you got your letter is nothing sinister. Once you know more, come back if you find a minute and let us know what they said. We're thinking of you.

First I had an ultrasound then a needle biopsy for lumps on my neck. The needle biopsy was inconclusive but apparently highly suspicious so they did a core biopsy which hurt...a lot! The same day I also had a CT scan and they said i would get the results a couple of weeks later but after less than a week I got the letter with an appointment with haematology next Monday. It doesn't seem likely the appointment is to give me good news but I suppose you never know!
