Let's beat cancer sooner

Post chemo alcohol

13 Jun 2018 14:03

I have just completed chemotherapy (3 cycle BEP) for testicular cancer and am now in the period waiting for my CT scan and results. When is it ok to have a drink as I fear my liver is still pushing the chemo through my system?

Hello and thanks for your post

For most people, having the occasional drink after chemotherapy should be ok. But this largely depends on how you feel, and how your blood test, particularly your liver function test ( LFT) is after the chemotherapy.

Probably, the best thing to do is to check this out with your cancer doctor or specialist nurse first as they will be familiar with all your medical details and will have your latest blood results.

I am sorry that I cannot be more specific, but I hope that this reply is of some use. If you have any other questions do get back to us.
