Pea sized lump on neck

Hi there

so recently I found a small pea sized painless lump

on the right hand side of my neck, I’ve never noticed this before but know this area has lymph nodes. On having a further look and going to my GP he noticed I had some swelling in this area and there was a defined second pea sized bump in the same side.

He wants to rule out if this is an infection but so far the bumps have been painless, increasing very slowly over a couple weeks at a time and when I drink alcohol I get very dull aches and pains in the affected areas.

I’m yet to go back for more tests and a follow up appointment, but I am slightly worried that this could be more than just an infection as I would of experienced some pain. Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Hello Hazel

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with this health problem at the moment. It's only natural to be concerned when you find a lump.

Has your Dr scheduled in a follow up appointment or said when they would like to see you again? If not then may be it would be a good idea to get in touch and let your Dr know that the lumps have increased in size.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer to find out what is causing these lumps.

    Best wishes,
