Pain, lumps and swelling all right side of my body

Hi there,

I really need some advice please.... I've been having pain in all my right side of body for some time. I have a lump just under my am pit, my hip and I struggle always with my joints all the time on right hand side. Lumps are hard but hurt when pushed. I've been ignoring for long time. I struggle to stand and walk up/down steps also have trouble bowel habits

  • Hello Orlao,

Thank you for posting.  I see from your post that you are worried about some symptoms you have.  The best thing to do is to go and see your doctor about these problems. When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers on an online forum, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. The only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.

    I hope this is helpful,

  • Hi orlao..did you go the doctors did you get any answers ?

  • I have exactly the same issue. Various lumps and pains all in the right side of my body, some large and they are getting bigger and more painful. I have been to several doctors at my GP practise but I just keep getting fobbed off and told its nothing to worry about even though they can't tell me what the cause is. I'm getting increasingly worried something has been missed. When I expressed concern previously I wasn't being taken seriously the GP made me feel like a hypochondriac. How do I get someone to take me seriously?

  • Hi has anyone been to doctors and got answers?

ive been bloated for 2 years and swelling and huge lump on right side of my stomach near the top under my ribs where I use to have my gallbladder but had that out 9 years ago then my right arm swelled 2 months ago and that comes and goes several times a week and not sure if it's related but my periods stopped in December ( though I am 49) and been having alsorts of menopausal symptoms for  years! My doctor won't see me due to covid and I'm petrified it's cancer has my mum died at 57 of lung cancer

it's not really painful just very swollen and achy leg and round my back my doctor just said it is probably an hernia after having gallbladder out but why would my arm be lumpy and swollen ? And said they wouldn't do anything has I'm classed has obese I'm so depressed and I have health anxiety this is making me very ill mentally too

do you think it could be an hernia?? I'm also constipated and having to take probiotics to help me go

  • If they are refusing to treat or investigate on the basis of tour weight, ask them to note that reason down in your notes. It might make them think twice about dismissing you.

I also have pain and a lump (although smaller than you) where I had my gallbladder removed. I just keep getting told it's nothing, but the pain can be excruciating. I also have bloating and other digestive issues. I have wondered if it could be related to my surgery (hernia, adhesions etc), but my doctors haven't even suggested that.

I'm sorry I can't advise much more. I would go back though, and if they refuse again ask them to make that note on your records. I've never tried it myself, but I bet it's not something they would want written on there. Ask "so, you're refusing to investigate or treat based on my weight? Could you please write that as the reason in my notes" or something. I hope you can get some answers and hopefully piece of mind.
