Out the starting gate

Hello all:

I'm a fifty-six year old male (Steve) recently diagnosed with CLL. Still taking in the news and trawling through the medical sites trying to educate myself. I undergo a bone marrow test next week to find what stage I'm at. I'm familiar with cancer and oncology departments, I lost both parents to cancer at a youngish age, so I understand and recognize the "routine." Unfortunaly, this time it's my turn. I guess I'm hoping to get news, hope, reach out, moan, fret and gather information on the forum when I wake up worrying at three in the morning. I'm British. Live in the States. I'm still taking in the news - a bit numb - but hopefull and determined.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Steve although I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

Many members have found that knowledge is power in situations like these so I'm glad to hear you're researching what you are dealing with. I'm not sure if you had a chance to look at our website yet but I have found some information about CLL here if you want to find out more and if you would like to chat to others with this diagnosis just use the 'search forum' option above to join in on previous discussions about this.

Good luck with your bone marrow test next week Steve. We'll be thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed you're in the early stages.

    Kind regards,
