My partner has a lymph node in his neck that is secondary cancer. They thought it was lymphoma but after biopsy it wasn’t. They’ve said that it’s secondary so they did a tonsillectomy thinking mouth as the primary but no it isn’t. He’s had scans yesterday he had a PET scan but they aren’t expecting it to show them anything they don’t already know. So my question is does this sound like a metastasis cancer? I’m absolutely gutted finally found my perfect partner had a lovely life ahead and 10 wks ago a swollen gland then all of this

Hi Zahbetsy,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read about your partner - I'm sure this is incredibly difficult for you both.

Unfortunately I'm unsure of the answer to your question but I'm sure the doctors will do all they can to find out what they - and you - need to know, and from there you'll be able to find out what the next steps are.

If you have any questions for our nurses, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Wishing you all the best,
