Micro-poem by Simon Armitage

Sometimes it can be hard to put into words what you’re experiencing. Poet Laureate Simon Armitage makes an attempt with a poem commissioned by the Institute of Cancer Research called Finishing It.

The poem was etched on a replica cancer tablet and will be displayed in the Centre for Cancer Drug Discovery next year. It aims to highlight the incredible work at the Institute and the advancement of cancer treatment as a whole. Simon said ‘’...what I can offer, in the shape of a poem, and in the shape of this little pill - this little magic bullet - is a kind of hope.” You can read Finishing It here.

Has being affected by cancer inspired you to get creative? Maybe write a poem of your own? We'd love it if you could share it with us.
