Medium Risk Skin Cancer

23 Nov 2017 09:32

I am at medium risk of skin cancer due to over use of sunbeds and sun exposure on holiday, I had this red/blister looking spot appear at the bottom of my leg, above my left ankle in June this year, noticed it when I was on holiday in Cyprus, took no notice of it as I thought it was a mosquito bite.. for the past 5 months it started changing in shape, size, colour, it went from a red blister type to more of a size of a pea, cracked, rough skin an black spots.. bled sometimes & tender to touch, after being at a few doctors appointments, I had an appointment at the doctors yesterday for my first session of cryosurgery where they frozed off any pre cancerous cells that shouldn’t be there... last night it was causing some amount of pain and lost feeling in my left foot, still no feeling today, now the doctor said yesterday that it will blister up... today, their isn’t any blister but it’s turned really really black and doesn’t look healthy... I am starting to get really worried, what should I do? Is this normal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks X

Hi Lara,

Just stopping by to follow-up on Chriss' post with our nurse helpline number, in case you'd like to have a chat with them: 0808 800 4040. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Also, please don't hesitate to call your GP if you're worried. Do let us know how you get on.
