Looking for support after brain tumour

After nearly three years since neurosurgery from an ependymoma on my brain stem  I am still experiencing severe balance and stability issues.  Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any 'cure' for this?   Would welcome any advice- many thanks.

  • Welcome to the forum Wobbly.

I'm sorry to hear that you are still experiencing problems with your stability and balance three years after neurosurgery on your ependymoma. Have you spoken to your doctor about this?

I'm sure other members who have also experienced side effects after surgery will post soon to offer their advice and share their experiences with you but in the meantime our specialist cancer nurses may be able to help. If you're in the UK you can call them for free on 0808 800 4040 and they are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m-5p.m.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Wishes,

  • Hello Wobbly,

Was looking up ependymoma and came by your post (not much about ependymoma).  I have had problem with dizziness and head spins (but this has been put down to an infection maybe labyrinthitis) mine was not all the time though.  Hope you found the answers you where looking for and the "cure" to your balance issues.

     All the best.
