Just been diagnosed with stage 1b after loop diathermy

It must have been a nasty shock to get that diagnosis after your procedure, and basically yes, your pelvic pain could be connected to your diagnosis as pelvic pain is a feature of cervical cancer. Your doctor will have a much better idea after the mri scan as this will be looking at the size and location of the tumour and it's only then that the stage can be properly confirmed.

Try not to worry too much about the size at the moment until you know more, as the pain might not be related to the size-lots of ladies can be symptomatic at stage 1b, and it doesn't necessarily mean that your stage will be any higher than that, or that the cancer is bigger than they think at the moment. x

It's easy to think the worst when you've had a shock and don't have all the information you need. I thought at first that my cancer was sure to have spread everywhere, but it hadn't and was stage 2b..it's just fear of the unknown makes your mind run away with itself and things are rarely as bad as we imagine. x

It was stage 2b cervical cancer. x

I hope you don't have too long to wait for the scan results after Tuesday-waiting is the worst time, but things get easier once you have a plan. x
