Hysteroscopy Monday

Hello,

Hoping someone can help.

I've been rushed through on the 2 week wait for suspected cancer. My scan showed my uterus lining is 24mm thick. I have been bleeding very heavily for 4 months now and the last couple of weeks have been horrific I am now getting as what I can only describe as contraction which led me to a&e.

Everything is very painful at the moment and I am really worrying that after this procedure there is going to be a longer wait for results or the next step. My quality of life has plummeted and I have an 8 month old and a 7 year old.

Scared for it being cancer but also just want to find out what's causing this and get fixed ASAP.

Anyone had similar? Please share your experience on wait times and outcome.

J

  • Hi Jenjb06,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties you've been experiencing recently. I am assuming by your post title that your appointment is today - and if so, I hope that it all goes OK. Do of course also use it as an opportunity to discuss any concerns as well as finding out the next steps in terms of how long to potentially wait for any further information.

Meanwhile if anyone here has similar experience then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Thank you for the response. Unfortunately they were unable to do the hysteroscopy due to the severe amount of scar tissue she wasn't able to actually see my uterus. They have taken alot of samples to be sent off for testing.

It seemed that it didn't happen often so I'm very concerned now whilst I wait but she seemed to think I would need a d&c to remove the scar tissue so they could see what was going on.
