Husband unable to be discharged from hospital

On good Friday my hubby had a fall he has terminal bladder cancer .

After  week in hospital I was told he would be discharged  but no day was agreed .

The next day my hubby called me late evening and told me they said he had covid and had been moved to a covid ward I was devastated for him .

I was told we need to have a hospital bed and equipment in place before he could come home after a week of clearing our room and reducing me to sleep on the sofa a bed arrived  today.

I was elated that he could finally come home where he has always wished to be This afternoon I was called and told that he has a uti and his bloods are causing some concern so no he will not be coming home !!

As he is clear of covid I would have thought he would be moved but no so now I have special permission to visit under certain measures.

I have seen my darling hubby once in three weeks and I feel that the NHS are causing so much pain and anxiety to him he cries on the phone , do not know what to say or do I am so upset

  • Thank you for your kindness I have been promised something will be done either to move him to another ward .

  • The ward he is on are treating him for an infection, where have I heard that before!

im so sorry for the upset this is causing you both

the hospital kept giving my dad antibiotics for an unknown infection and we kept asking if it was his cancer back and it took quite a bit of pushing to get a doctor to listen , and to speak to his cancer doctor, clearly I'm not an expert but my guess is that cancer sets off the same blood markers as an infection would, they did finally check and his cancer was the cause but they left it to late to get him home, if you and hubby want to be at home push like hell
