Let's beat cancer sooner

Hello

5 Nov 2016 19:30

Hi, I was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma in march. Unfortunfortunately I can't have chemo as I have cirrhosis (non alcahol related). Feel like I have an enemy which I can't fight!!

Hi Seabird,

Just wanted to say hello. Sorry no one has replied to you post as yet. May I ask if they are able to give any treatment? When I had prostate cancer, I has hormone therapy along with radiotherapy and this worked extremly well for me. It also helped me feel I had some control over it.

Sending kind thoughts your way, Brian.

Seabird,

Please do get a second and if need be a third opinion.

Chemo is very toxic, and yes Liver Desease can be a factor to consider. As can be other conditions such as Diabetes, CKD and BP Et al.

Please do get more opinions on this, before giving up.

All the best.

Hi Brian

i am writing down questions as I think of them & my good friend & neighbour comes with me to all my appts which are many as have to see liver team plus kidney doc as cat scan showed a mass in kidney. After a biopsy it is not lymphoma & will be having further scan after xmas to see if it has grown.

Have been told I'm a very complex case which is nothing new as people have been telling me that all my life Happy

take care

Carol

Hi cococat

they want to wait to see if it grows if it has then it might mean surgery.

Did u enjoy strictly? 2 of my daughters called from america just as it started. Its getting very exciting. They told me about the amazing house they have booked for xmas right on the sea front Wink

Hi Carol,

I love your sense of humour re what you said about being complex and that does helps us get through the bad days.

Glad you have someone to go with you. My appointments were always at a time when Mrs B couldnt come with me for she is diabetic and has to have meals at set times so I did all hospital appiontments on my own.  Just after I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, they also found out I was diabetic too. But whereas Mrs B is on five insulin injections per day, I am on tablets.

I wish you a peaceful Sunday andnsendingg kind thoughts your way, Brian.
