Doctor said nothing wrong??? lung problems

23 May 2020 00:28

I am 16 years old female and for months have had issues with my left lung feeling half blocked or as if it is breathing thick air.

It gets worse when I lie down and I often get palpitations.

The strange sensation of my left throat- lung is as if you have a cold and you need to cough and can feel it in your throat yet I have nothing to cough up and force myself to do a chesty cough to hopefully dislodge something but it's not much use.

When i put my hand on the left chest it feels more cracky than the right

I told the doctor and received antibiotics that solved nothing

Months later today I went to the doctor and she said she cant see anything wrong but I know for a fact this sensation has been there for months and has be afraid of having a heart attack.

This morning I woke up with sharp pains in my left chest that had me breathing shallow because it hurt when I breathe in.

Although i dont usually get pain.

Please could someone help me i just wanna know if its cancer or many other things because I'm tried of being in fear and the doctors saying nothing is wrong

Thankyou

Sorry but nobody on here can give you a diagnosis. If your symptoms are still worrying then make another appointment with your GP.

If you have already spoken to a doctor 3 times and have been told that there is nothing to worry about why not give your symptoms time to settle down.  Writing on a cancer forum is certainly going to fuel your anxiety.

Hello and thanks for your post

I'm sorry you are feeling worried about your symptoms. It’s important to bear in mind that lung cancer at your age is extremely rare. The majority of these cancers develop in people over the age of 60.

There can be many different reasons for symptoms to develop and thankfully most won't be the result of anything as serious as cancer. Try not to over think things and try to avoid googling your symptoms as the information online is general and not specific to you. It cannot replace the information that a doctor can give a person after a medical assessment. So do go back and see your doctor if your symptoms persist.

I hope you know more about your situation soon. Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

Kind regards,

Celene
