DANCE FOR LIFE

20 Jul 2011 12:44

MAYBE THERE SHOULD BE A DANCE FOR LIFE FOR THOSE OF US WHO CANT RUN AND LOVE DANCING, DANCING CAN INCLUDE EVERYONE BECAUSE IT CAN BE DONE STANDING, FROM A CHAIR OR A WHEELCHAIR. AND WE COULD ALL DO AS MUCH OR AS LITTLE AS OUR DEGREE OF HEALTH WOULD ALLOW !!!!!!!! WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK ????

Hya hun

the energy all in my head today, feeling a bit offside today, Annie Lennox on my dressing table singing her little head off. My hair started to fall out again so its messing with my insides too, I need to be strong before next thursday as my new treatment starts, so Im listening to my body for a change and resting up. How are feeling today, did you get back in touch with your workmates?

Hey Von,

sorry you're not feeling so good today but you're right to rest up if you can. It's a bummer tho if there's things you want to get on with isn't it? I'm finally washed and dressed woohoo!

yeah I contacted some old mates but they were still busy, some of them were even too busy to tell me they were busy! they ought to be careful being that busy sounds stressful to me ha ha!

you take care honey

HI,

got washed and dressed about the same time lol, everything an effort today, got awful tummy ache, my daughter had a bug and think she passed it on unwittingly. Looks like that half a stone is gonna come off lol, dont know why i was worrying about it, better than WW quickstart ha ha. I k xxxnow what you mean about people though, I called in to work yesterday and theres a guy there who i used to be good mates with and got on really well with, he couldnt even bring himself to ask how i was.  Oh well, one thing about this pesky illness is that it brings everyones true colours out. They are the ones that are losing out.keep smiling hun and its good to talk on here because we are all going through the same stuff at different degrees. You sound like a very clever woman and you are really articulate, even hard for me to spell lol.Thinking of you.

Hey,

I think a Dance for Life sounds like a great idea - and lets not get into any of the sexism debates surrounding the Race for Life.

Hi

lol it takes 2 to tango, ha ha. Anyone welcome,  its going to take some organising. Ive already got venue ideas and my friend suggested a a karaoke, would be good if other people organised it in their areas too!!! I need to check the legalities too and get some proper help with it, need to talk to someone who has done fundraising before, so i will check it out at Christies next week and see if I can get help with it.

Hi Hothead,

Sounds a great idea to me, mind you working shifts anything between 8am and 8pm, or 8pm and then through to 8am whilst nursing, never had the time to learn! Mine would be more like 'daddy dancing' but with two left feet, could get paid a fortune for getting off the floor though, bit like my carol singing!

Hi Pat

Anyone can dance, just move to the rytthym lol, cant even spell it ha ha, I used to be brilliiant at spelling st school, but my memory not what it was, so it could have been a spelling B, but it has to be dance now.. Before I found out about the BC I used to go dancing with my sis and friends about once every 6 weeks or so and we would dance until dawn, My last dancing attempt was ruined by the change in painkillers and we had to cut it short, so I could do with a good bop,the radiotherapy helped with the pain though, had the one big blast, its just starting to creep back, but im having the bone treatment next week along with the new chemo. Only had  one so far (Zometa) its a long story. Hope you are well at the moment.

Hi Hothead49,

Feeling fine at the moment though felt a bit yuk at times over the past couple of weeks. Actually doing the race for life this coming Sunday, though will be amongst the walkers, the friend I asked to come with me, she only saunters; last two years have lapped her twice in one circuit of the relay for life course in St Agnes Cornwall. I can sprint for about 200yds only these days, gave up my running when I moved to Cornwall, no pavements and no street lights in the village, feel a bit of an idiot running at my age anyway!  Pat cougar69

Hi hothead 49,  What area are you in?  I'm in London and would gladly get involved in organising an event.  I have set up small charities in the past and used to organised events for disabled people so I've got some skills.  Areyou thinking of doing it  through Cancer Research or independently?

Pat

I think you are amazing doing that and you sound like you are a lot of fun to be around.Hope you have a good day and the weather is kind to you. Im going to Tatton Park flower show this weekend, im really looking forwards to it, always wanted to go. I will do the race for life next summer if my new treatment works and shrinks me lol, Im getting really nervous about next week, Ive been reading about Abraxane and its quite scarey stuff. Im sending you hugs for weekend. Ive been to the Lizard Point a few years ago, Cornwall is beautiful.

Love and good luk
