Considering a PICC/Central Line - Advice Please

Hello,

Last Thursday I started my first course of Oxaliplatin, which was given via IV cannula. It went in OK but it was painful in my arm. It's still painful a couple of days later - mainly sore and sensitive.

The nurse said that the pain is likely to get worse each adminstration and recommend getting a PICC or Central Line. She said that whilst it wouldn't prevent the side effects of potential numb fingers/toes, it would prevent the pain during the administration.

Has anybody been in the same position? Can they confirm that the administration of Oxaliplatin is much less painful via a line?

Thanks,

Bryan
