Let's beat cancer sooner

Communication of results

20 Mar 2017 20:51

i had pneumonia. I was asked to have an X-ray. It was undertaken before I'd had any medication and the infection was severe. I went to see my GP who advised that I needed a further test. She said - if you don't hear from us, it's all good, we need to make sure there is no nastiness, including cancer, under there.

GP sent me a letter to book a telephone appointment

I'm also awaiting an ultrasound due to a lump on my testicles..

do they communicate potential bad news like this by phone?! Seems insensitive to me and my partner... either I keep it to myself until I see her or I have to tell her by phone.

It isnt bad news. It is just precautions to have more tests. If I were you, I wouldn't worry just as yet, it will not achieve anything.

Wierdly lumps on the testicals are quite common, and in an overwhemling majority of occurence are nothing to worry about.

God forbid, there is bad news. You will be told in person. Not over the phone, so do not worry.
