Colposcopy sent away urgently

Hi there,

I have high grade cells. So, basically, I went for a smear last month and got a phone call to go in ASAP for a colposcopy under general anithstetic (cannot spell) Anyway they took away cells up to the neck of the womb and took biopsys. Between the phone call and the procedure this all happened in less than 2 weeks. They never told me anything except my biopsys are being sent away as urgent. Why would they be sent away as urgent? They said I will find out ASAP.

    I am sorry to hear that you are waiting for biopsy results and I can understand how easy it is to let your mind run away with you. No one can tell you any more until they get the results back from your biopsies. 

    There may have been an area in your cervix that caused them some concern which is why they wanted to hurry the results through but of course I can't be sure. The important thing is that hopefully you will know more soon.
