Cold cap yeah or nay?

I've going to be starting chemotherapy for my breast cancer  shortly and I'm intrested in peoples opinion on the use of cold cap to refuse the chances of losing your hair during Chemo, I know in the grand scheme of things I doesn't seem important but I'd like to hold on to my hair if I can.

intrested in the pros and cons

those that had it what helped you tolerate it or not

am I just clutching at straws

  • Hi Kizzi

I'm going to be starting chemo soon as well for breast cancer I see my oncologist Wednesday. I've heard about the cold cap and have heard good and bad. The bad is it can give you awful migraine and if thats the case I'm going to pass and just accept I will lose my hair. There will be enough other side effects to cope with, without adding another.

    Best wishes

  • [@Kizzi551]‍ hi lovely, yes iam using cold cap for my chemotherapy and yes first 10-15 min not easy it's freeze your brain and you feel awful but its doable. Iam on weekly Taxol and i dont want to loose my hair so im dealing with it every week. Last two days i noticed my hair is everyway and next time when i go for chemo will ask nurses if thats make point to continue with cold cap as it adding almost two hours extra to stay in hospital. If you have any questions feel free to ask x‍
