Cervical cancer

I. Had a colonoscopy and was told I had cancer in cervix they did what does that mean a biopsy  waiting results the doctor said she was worried

  • Hi Honeybee

I wasn’t sure I understood your post completely. Was it a colposcopy you had, rather than a colonoscopy? That’s where they are examining your cervix.  If the doctor identifies something then you would get a biopsy. Did you have this and are waiting on results?

If you’ve had a biopsy, then this will give the doctor more information and if there is cancer (rather than pre cancerous cells) then the next step would be scans to determine the stage and identify the appropriate treatment plan.

I have cervical cancer, although I’m currently free of disease, so I’m happy to help you out with any questions you have. It’s tough waiting for results as our minds can wander all sorts of ways. Please come back and let us know how you’re getting on. x
