Ca125 cysts and fibroids... Please any advice

Hello,

On Tuesday I had an ultrasound  because I've had extreme pain on my left side for months.

By thursday morning my results were in and I have got 2 cysts on my left ovary. One the size of a tomato which they can't see if it is fluid filled the other is a daughter cyst growing inside which is size of a strawberry.

I also have 2 fibroids one is 72mmx61mm and covering my cervix.

I paid to go private and saw a gynaecologist yesterday who said that it very rare to see this in a woman of my profile I'm white 28 woman with no children.

I has the ca125 test yesterday and should have the results back next week.

He is going to remove the cysts and put dye in my tubes to check they aren't damaged by the fibroid. He said that he wants to protect my fertility and that if I have the fibroid removed it will be major surgery.

I just wondered if anyone can give me any advice or if you have gone through similar.

It's been a really tough week especially as me and my husband had planned to try for a baby this year.

Thank you

  • Hi Chanely89,

I noticed you've not received a reply yet so I just wanted to stop by to see if I could help connect you with some of our other members going through similar experiences.

I remembered that [@Donnaeh17]‍joined us recently and has been posting about ovarian cysts, so it may well be worth joining her discussion. [@KressMarksTheSpot]‍has also been posting on this topic - Do I need to monitor my ovarian cyst? - and may well be happy to chat about her experiences with you on this.

If you'd like to ask our friendly nurse team any questions, they'll be only too happy to chat, too: 0808 800 4040 (Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm)

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hello I had a large dermoid cyst in my right ovary and Fallopian tube removed three years ago. My cancer markers were hundred of times higher than normal, I was 30 with no children and absolutely terrified. I can say having it removed was the best thing that had happened to me, not one part was as bad as I’d imagined, I mean don’t get me wrong the recovery was long and it was painful at times but no where near as bad as the pain you will be feeling from having them in there. I went on to fall pregnant 6 months after having it removed. I sincerely hope that everything goes well, look forward to the relief from that long term pain you were feeling. Make sure you have people around you who can make you a cuppa, get plenty of rest and if you laugh, and I hope you do laugh lots make sure you Gently hold a cushion against your tummy! You will get through this, as my mam always says “this will pass” and it will.  Lots of positive thoughts and love.

  • Thank you so much for your message.

It really does mean so much to me and nice to hear that you were able to have a baby following the surgery.

It's so scary I never imagined this happening to me or at my age. I've been in incredible amounts of pain for a long time but put it down to stomach/bladder problems and just kind of accepted it.

I got really Ill on holiday and my husband said you have got to get this sorted so hopefully now life can start to get better.

Thank you again for taking the time to reply to me. Lots of love xx
