Breast symptoms

Hello

I never thought I would be posting on here but I am not sure what else to do.

So 8 weeks ago I found a large lump on my side, fast forward and I have had an ultrasound and it's a lipoma so nothing dangerous but very large (8cm) and so needs to be removed.

Last week I was just sitting and I had an awful shooting pain in my right breast (same side as the lipoma) and it took my breath away. Happened for around 2 days and comes and goes now. I also have extreme itching across both breasts and yesterday I noticed a small purple mark about the size of a pea. I have been feeling constantly nauseous and very tired.

I went to the docs today and they are referring me for a mammogram but not sure how long the wait will be.

As usual Google has been my enemy because everything is telling me the worst type of breast cancer.

I dont know what I am expecting on here but maybe if you could share your own experiences and if you had the same symptoms and what was the outcome.

Thank you for reading x

  • Hello Mrs85

Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear about the health concerns that you're dealing with at the moment.
We know that many members here on the forum will have found that waiting for tests and results can be a very difficult time. As you've already found out, Google tends to portray information for a worst case scenario which can also cause a lot of unnecessary worry so try to give it a wide berth.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your appointment for your mammogram. You could may be give the clinic a call next week to check that the referral has been received and ask about waiting times.

In the meantime if you think it would help to talk things through with one of our team of nurses then please do give them a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Keep in touch Mrs85 and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
