Breast lump

In December 2019 I went to my gp with underarm pain he felt for lymph nodes but found nothing...a little chat about breast cancer and lymph nodes resulted in a check up with the nurse as I said my breast are generally lumpy...all was fine nurse agreed I have naturally lumpy boobs but nothing unusual was felt.

aroudn 2 weeks ago I was laying down and had an itch in my right breast, beside my breast bone just above where the wire of your bra ends and I felt a weird lump.

at first I thought maybe it was just tissue/vein or something like that I've been keeping an eye on it and realised I can't feel it when sitting up, I've leaned forward so my boobs pull away from chest wall and again I can't feel it I only feel it when reclined or laying flat.

its in such a strange area it's so hard to tell what it actully feels like and I feel like I'm chasing it around/I can't always find it first time I've got to really focus, it feels firm but moves I have other lumps in that are that I assume is ribs/tissue I've matched them to my left breast which also is lumpy in that area just this one lump that feels different it's not painful which is what's really got me panicking

called my gp this morning and have a telephone appointment on Thursday morning just found myself crying with worry I suffer health anxiety and I'm so worried the doctor won't take me serious especially being in in December, however I know from then that this lump wasn't there at that point and since then I've been a regular breast checker at least every other week and this lump just seems to have appeared from nowhere

as the lump is in an unusal spot im curious to see if anyone else on here has had similar and what the outcome was ?

  • Hi

I've had an appointment with the breast clinic today. Although it wasn't in the same place ( mine was about 2cm under my left nipple) it was the same in the sense that I couldn't feel it when I was upright or when I leant over pulling my breasts away from my body. Like you've said I could only feel it when I was laid down. Anyway, it turned out to be a cyst so try not to worry. It could be several things.

  • Hi JRLT,

Sorry, just edited my comment as I didn't realise you'd posted this today. How are you getting on? I can relate to you as I've had similar sensations/feelings xx
