Breast change, Worried but carnt show it

So about 3 months ago I noticed my left nipple started to pull in whenever I lifted my arm up, gradually it's gotten worse, sometimes it can feel a little niggle pain but nothing noticable really, I do have lumpy boobs so dont often check for lumps as I carnt tell what is normal and what isn't.

I finally plucked up the courage to go to the docs today and when I lift my arm, the while left side of my nipple and quite a bit of my breast sinks in so where I quite a big dip, doctor felt my boobs and fels 2 lumps exactly where the dip is but quite deep, so she has referred me to the breast unit at hospital Friday next week, she did say she isn't overly concerned but as there has been a change in my breast she has to refer me anyway. I am hoping to hear some positive stories that it may be ok but I am scared it wont be. I have 3 children the youngest only being 8 months and my partner isn't the most sensitive person so dont feel I can Express just how scared I am, I think I am also just trying to pretend it's not bothering me as I know if I admit it it will all seem real. Please let me here your stories.

  • I dont have a story as im just beginning my journey into ibc investigation but just wanted to let you know your not alone momma. I tried to talk to my partner today about how scared i am but he's not a very emotional person so shrugged it off we have 4 little boys aged 10 8 7 and 3 and the wait and the unknown is so scary. Im here if you want to talk

  • I have some idea of how you are feeling I had no sign of anything wrong went for a routine scan and had to have biopsy done the not knowing is awful and you do feel like you don’t want to burden others with your feelings I’m separated from my husband but I know he wouldn’t have been a support I’m sure your husband is just as worried and just doesn’t know how to show it but it natural to feel worried my news wasn’t great but I have found it really early and I know whatever treatment I chose I will come out the other side and you will too I wish you all the best and I’m sure your results will be good

  • Thank you, I hope everything is ok for you too. I have to wait till friday to see the breast consultant and I am so scared, I keep checking to see if things have got better but after 3 months I dont think they will magically reverse bak to normal but I am hoping the consultant has some sort of explanation as to why my nipple is pulling inwards and that the lump is just due to my lumpy breasts but think I may be kidding myself but we have to have hope i suppose x
  • I am very sorry to hear your news wasnt great, I really hope you have some good options and get through it. Yes the wait is horrid, Friday carnt cone soon enough. It was only by chance I noticed my nipple pulling in when i lifted my arm when i was in the shower and when i looked in the mirror and did it it was very obvious but i did keep putting it off and not thinking much of it but after a couple of months and it starting to pull in more I thought I would get checked and wish I had done it sooner now with my doc also feeling 2 lumps there but I carnt change that now I just need to hope the consultant thinks its nothings and has an explanation but if not I will face that when I come to it, like you tho I dont want to burden family members if I dont have too, I would rather get this appointment out the way so I know if it is just worry over nothing or not xx

  • Monday cannot come quick enough for me my issues started about 6/9 months ago (i have a shocking memory) with a tiny lump behind the nipple it was very itchy and it hurt sometimes fast forward to December i noticed it started to make my nipple inverted which was worrying but i went to my gp (since changed to a new one) and she wasnt overly concerned fast forward again to 3 weeks ago i noticed my breast started swelling considerably i initially thought it was an abcess as i suffer with an illness called hidradenitis which causes widespread abcesses. 2 A & E trips 3 lots of antibiotics and its just getting bigger heavier and more painful im hoping and praying its just a stubborn abcess that wont get better I initially thought it was a cellulitis infection which ive been told it isnt which just makes me panic even more..

Please keep me updated on how you get on friday you'll be in my thoughts xx

  • Aww bless you, not knowing is the worst part, will keepeverythin crossed that it is just an abscess and they can treat it for you x
