Biopsy results received

Hi guys

I had biopsies taken nearly 3 weeks ago, during the week I received a phone call from my consultants secretary asking me to go back into hospital to discuss the results in two days.
I know I am jumping the gun but is this typical protocol for results that will be ok?

Seems odd to call me back into hospital if my results are all clear. If they were all clear why not say on the phone? ‍♀️

Baffled at what I should expect.

  • Whatever the outcome please take someone with you for support the result maybe not what you were expecting.  If it is not Cancer it could be something else they have found.

They will discuss with the next step.  Different treatments.  Different medication.  Ask if there is anthing that you can do to improve your health and wellbeing.

If you have any questions about your illness this is the time to tell them.  Also tell them of any help you need.

Hope all goes well.  Let us know how you get on.

  • I think it's rare you would get the results over the phone or by letter, in my experience good or bad news always seems to be face to face.  It is one of the things that annoys me about the NHS, besides it wasting a slot for someone else who needs it if they are delivering good news, it's a cost to everyone.

Hope it's good news for you regardless
