Hi all,

Brian, I really like your work!

I really have to share with you - the Race for life here in Glasgow was amazing on Sunday, over 7000 ladies took part! It had also really big publicity, my twitter was like crazy. Look, how many we were Happy

I still do not know how I did it but I run 5km in 30 minutes - it just was not possible to stop because everytime I wanted, I saw someone who inspired do not want to know how I looked like in the finish. And there were also ladies with hulla hoops that hulla-hooped the distance! I was really sad from the story of Gaynor (the other vip starter). I do not really knows how she could handle all the situation and reminding. And I really hope that all the fundraising will help to prevent such sad stories.

Have great week!

Well done Zuzanka and thanks for the link which was a great write up of the event. Your time was incredible and you should be very proud of yourself alongside so many equally inspirational ladies. May you also have a good week. Jules

Hi folks,

Jules, more great shots thank you.

Our three day show was not as good sales wise as last year due to us being moved to a differnt location but we had a lot of nice comments and have several people exressinf interst in joining our club so all was not lost. I enjoyed the banter that went on as they are a good bunch of blokes.

Here are som of the photos I took of peoples work.

Our newest member who make all these out of pallets.

These are just some of the peoples work which I hope you like Brian

Some wonderful pieces of craftsmanship Brian and such a shame that due to the new location the sales were not as expected.  You put so much effort into these events so am pleased that you enjoyed the company and of course saw the labours of the members.  Your new recruit will fit right in Iam sure.  Jules

Hi Brian and all,

I hope you had nice longer weekend (it was amazing here in Scotland)!

Brian, I really love the wood work, would like to try it one day too Happy

We have seen so great example of legacy on Friday, everybody is still very moved. There was small conference to celebrate 10 years anniversary of Paul O'Gorman Leukemia Research Centre and the University announced establishment of Prof. Tessa Holyoake Fund (for further education - PhDs, postdocs). The point - Tessa established the centre 10 years ago, she also discovered how leukemic stem cells behave, she was really a pioneer in research and treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia but sadly, she passed away last summer due to cancer. In her will, she gave 100000 pounds for the future researchers and University took care of it.

I just think, it is simply beautiful.

Good morning friends,

Thanks Jules,He has joined in the banter right from the start and is a great guy who will contribut much to our club. We have already sounded him out about giving a talk to our club.

Thanks Zuzanka, Our club has helped many people get started over the years. So many have talents that just need a little help to bring it out. What an inspirational ladytou write about, much like yourself.

Just a few more shots I took, Brian

Hi Brian,  Some wonderful selections over the past few days (e-mails did not pop into my in box so just catching up).  Love the autumnal colours through hopefully still a while away for us!!    As usual really enjoy seeing the woodwork too.

Very dull here today with only the odd glimpse of the sun but still somewhat muggy.  Have bought a few plants for my front garden containers so have been busy getting them in.  A pair of robins keeping me company  so had to pop indoors for some suet titbits which were quickly demolished.  Think they have young nearby.

Below are a couple of my views from Saturday's visit to the Wetland Centre such a tranquil setting despite being in the middle of Barnes.  Jules

Hi folks,

Thanks Jules. Been busy in the workshop.  Yesterday I turned 10 sit up and beg mice and today I turned two cocktail stick holders. Photos attached. You should see the pile of sawdust they have generated..

Have a good week, Brian.
