Hi,

My mum has recently been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer. She started chemo on Monday last week (7th) and has been really ill since. Can I ask how ill she should actually be and what's normal? What are other people's experiences after their first round of chemo? 

She was literally stuck in bed for 2 days, not being able to even lift her head off the pillow!! Too weak to even get to the toilet on time! She is now slightly better to the point she can come down stairs, walk around better but she's still constantly feels sick, has constant diarrhea (despite taking tablets to stop this), has terrible cramps in her stomach, really bad indegestion and has no taste what so ever to any food she puts in her mouth! Just explains that everything tastes like cardboard! Everytime she does eat she just has terrible diarrhea again even when she's only had around 5 mouthfulls!! She got admitted to hospital over the weekend for fluids etc but still isnt any better! She has spoke to the hospital and they have changed tablets and given her stuff for the indegestion but nothing seems to be working!! She is really suffering and is struggling to cope with thinking this is going to be the case after every round of chemo! Is this normal??
