Ascites (swollen tummy)

You might have a swollen tummy (ascites) if you have advanced bowel cancer. There are treatments that you can have that might help to reduce the build-up of fluid.

About ascites (swollen tummy)

Advanced bowel cancer can sometimes cause swelling of the tummy (abdomen) due to a build up of fluid called ascites.

Treatment for ascites (swollen tummy)

Advanced bowel cancer can cause ascites. To get rid of this fluid you might have a drain.
