Tough 10 Course Marshal Volunteer - Bristol - 21st October 2017
Apply right now!
Why we need you:
Tough 10 is a new fundraising event for Cancer Research UK. Last year we organised 10 events across the country and over 5,000 participants took part running over some of the U.K.’s toughest terrain to help beat cancer sooner.
We couldn’t put on our events without the amazing support of an army of volunteers. It is thanks to these men and women that we are able to raise £60 million every year from our events for life saving research.
What will you be doing?
Inspire, cheer and motivate participants by covering one of the marshal points on the course. This crucial role ensures the event runs smoothly and participants feel motivated. This role is perfect for team players with great communication skills who can use their initiative when dealing with anything that may occur on the course.
Tough 10 is such a great event to be a course marshal because the courses are in some of the U.K.’s most scenic locations, such as Box Hill in Surrey, the Peak District, and the Pentland Hills in Scotland. One of our previous volunteers has said:
‘The experience is unreal. Like lots of others, I’ve been drawn back year on year. It’s an amazing sense of achievement to play a small part in putting the event together; especially when you’re cheering the last participant over the finish line – there’s always a story behind it - and generally tears! Cancer can be world shattering, and beating it sooner means more research to stop people’s worlds being shattered.’ Mark, Course Marshal Volunteer at a previous Cancer Research UK event
