Share your experience of being on a prostate cancer clinical trial
We need people to speak about their experience of taking part in a clinical trial to others who are affected by prostate cancer at our upcoming events. By sharing your experience, you’ll be helping to address some of the perceived barriers and misconceptions about clinical trials that men have, and may encourage others to take part in trials in the future.
- 28th July - Southampton
Today’s clinical trials make tomorrow’s treatments possible. In the past year, cutting edge research has improved clinical practice for prostate cancer. We are running events around the country to tell people affected by prostate cancer about these exciting breakthroughs.
This research wouldn’t have been possible without people like you who took part in clinical trials. We want to break-down the barriers and misconceptions about clinical trials so that more people will take part in the future. To do this, we need you to speak about your trial experience and engage in conversations with people affected by prostate cancer.
You can do this in one of two ways:
You’ll host a table at a drop in session about clinical trials. This will involve having informal conversations with a group of people affected by prostate cancer. You’ll tell them about your trial experience, answer their questions, and encourage open conversations in the group.
You’ll be one of our speakers for a session on the day. You will need to prepare and deliver a 5 minute talk describing what clinical trials mean to you. You will then sit on a panel alongside prostate cancer health care professionals for a 15 minute question and answer session.
