About the opportunity

At Cancer Research UK we actively invest in our people so they have the capabilities to beat cancer sooner. This means building leadership and management skills, and communicating effectively. It also means attracting, developing and retaining people in a huge range of specialisms – from shop managers to local fundraisers; cancer nurses to research specialists. We take this investment seriously and it is overseen by a group of directors from across the charity – our People Steering Group. The group meets 6 times a year to review new proposals, monitor the progress of activities already underway, and debate some of the key issues affecting our people.

We're looking for someone who's been affected by cancer, and has worked in leadership for a large organisation, to act as a 'Non-Executive Director' in the group. This person would give a fresh perspective and challenge the group to make sure everything we do in developing our people is helping us to beat cancer sooner.

If this sounds like you, please download the role profile and email us at to request an application form.
