Why we need you:

Now in our third year of participating at the Pride Parade, we’re hoping to make our entry this year bigger, bolder and more colourful than ever! We’re on the lookout for some passionate, energetic and motivated new recruits to join our amazing marching team. You’ll be walking with Cancer Research UK colleagues, ambassadors, researchers and patients, helping us to engage with the general public about the work of Cancer Research UK whilst having a lot of fun, and ultimately helping us to beat cancer sooner.

Everyone is welcome and you don't need any previous experience – so what are you waiting for, sign up today. We can't do it without you.

What will you be doing?

We will be meeting at midday on Saturday 8th July where you will receive your Pride Parade kit. You will be walking alongside a Cancer Research UK branded truck which will be pumping out music for us to dance along to. We will provide a CRUK pride t-shirt for you to wear but the rest is up to you and we very much encourage you to be as colourful as possible.

What are the benefits?

  • Cancer is happening right now. Join in the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a valuable contribution to life saving research being carried out as we speak.
  • The experience of working with one of the UK’s leading charities and their staff in an engaging, fun way.
  • Meet new and like-minded people and create a positive and happy vibe across the streets of London.
  • It’s an amazing experience; marching in the Pride Parade has an atmosphere like no other.

How much time do you need to commit?

The parade usually lasts between 2-4 hours, so this is a commitment for most of the day on Saturday 8th July. We will continue socialising after the parade so you can carry on getting to know your fellow volunteers and continue the celebrations.

What support will you be given?

A member of the team will contact you before the event to discuss any queries you have about the event or your role. You will receive briefing notes before the event and a full explanation of your role on the day. All volunteer teams have a designated manager who will guide and support you in your role and answer any questions you may have.
