Our research in Glasgow
Our researchers in Glasgow focus on pancreatic and bowel cancers and chronic myeloid leukaemia, and first manufactured the brain cancer drug Temozolomide.
Kirsteen Campbell, Research Engagement Scientist, says "As a researcher working in Glasgow I’m acutely aware that my work completely relies on volunteers. Without volunteers raising money and awareness there's no incubator to hold my cells, no microscope to look at my experiments.
It would be impossible for researchers like me to do our work without volunteers. It gives me a great sense of pride when I see someone running or collecting for Cancer Research UK. People taking time out of their day to volunteer is the key to the work we do in the labs."
