Karen is a Senior Research Nurse in Birmingham

"My role is only possible because of amazing volunteers. Because of their hard work, dedication and passion I'm able to lead a team of nurses delivering early phase cancer trials, engaging with patients, families and members of the public on cancer research and sharing our progress.

The vital funding we receive in Birmingham helps develop kinder, more targeted treatments for adults and children with cancer. By volunteering you're part of this team and with your help we're quickly and safely improving patient care through clinical trials.

I wish I could thank each and every volunteer, from shop volunteers to those helping at events or campaigning in their local community. You're a huge part of the team and we're all so grateful for everything you do."
