Compete against Formula 1 super star Jenson Button in his annual triathlon.

Cancer Research UK is delighted to once again be the Official Charity Partner of the annual Jenson Button Trust triathlon.

The 2016 event is set to be the biggest staged to date with the capacity for nearly double the amount of competitors as seen in previous years. To be held in Markeaton Park in Derby on Sunday July 17th, competitors will get the chance to race against the 2009 Formula 1 World Champion and it welcomes both amateur and professional Triathletes.

Keeping to the sprint format as adopted in previous years, competitors will get the chance to race twice, with the preliminary heat consisting of a 200m lake swim, 11km cycle and 2.5km run. The top performers will then go on to the final, 400m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run, with the runners up entering the wooden spoon race.

The Jenson Button Trust Triathlon is a truly unique event, which aims to incorporate competition with a relaxed festival atmosphere. As with previous years there will be an event village, post race party, live music and prizes to be presented personally by Jenson.

Jenson Button will also be inviting the first 30 people to raise £500 to an exclusive meeting with him at the triathlon*. Other prizes for our top fundraisers will be announced at a later date so watch this space!
