CRUK Beatson Institute Open Evening
Cancer survival rates in the UK have doubled over the last 40 years. In the 1970s just 1 in 4 people survived. Today, 1 in 2 will survive.
Our ambition is to speed up progress and see 3 out of 4 patients surviving the disease within the next 20 years.
We fund a world class research facility in Glasgow, the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute, where renowned scientists are looking at how cancer starts, grows and spreads around the body. Our scientists work with local and global partners to take forward ideas from the lab and turn them into new therapies for people with cancer.
At our free open evening you’ll meet and hear from Glasgow based scientists and nurses. We’ll show you cancer cells under the microscope and have interactive ways for you to learn more about the complex disease that is cancer. You'll tour our state of the art laboratories, guided by our researchers who'll show you how your support saves lives.
