Take on a Tough 10 run in Sherwood Pines.
No obstacles - this is your chance to take on 10k of established trails and narrow paths on gradient changes that will keep you on your toes. The scenery is stunning too – if you get the chance to look!
This event has closed for 2016, however use the link below to register your interest for the 2017 event and we'll let you know when entries open. You can also enter on the day at the venue.
This 10k course follows established trails and narrow paths in Sherwood Pines. There are a number of changes to the gradient throughout with an overall elevation gain of 138m.
Your efforts will be rewarded with some stunning scenery so make sure you take the opportunity to look!
You must be aged 16 or over on the day of the event to take part. Persons aged 16 or 17 must take part with either a parent, guardian or, if having obtained their parent or legal guardian’s permission, another registered participant aged 18 or over.

Will there be a bag drop?
Yes. There will be a free of charge bag drop in the event area, close to the registration marquee. However do note that we cannot take responsibility for any belongings – please do not bring valuables with you.
Will there be water available?
Yes. There will be one water station around the halfway mark on the course and and another in the finish area.
What is available for spectators?
There is an excellent cafe that serves hot and cold food and drinks right next to the main event area. You will be able to watch the start and finish of the run from there.
Are there toilets?
Yes, there is a large purpose built toilet block next to the main event area.
Are there shower facilities?
More information will be added closer to the event.
Sherwood Pines Forest Park is situated approximately 30 minutes drive from Nottingham & Sheffield, three miles from the A1. It is equally easy to navigate from either the A60 or A614.
Access to Sherwood Pines Forest Park is only available via the entrance on the B6030, near Old Clipstone.
There is ample parking available. There is a standard 'all day' Pay & Display charge of £4.
If coming via the bus take the number 14 or 15 to Kirton or Walesby from Mansfield bus station. They run every half hour Monday - Saturday and every hour on Sundays. Please check details the Stagecoach website.
The race will start at 10am.
Please arrive 45 minutes before the start. You will need your running number that will be sent to you in the post prior to your event.
Before the race starts there will be a short warm up and safety briefing.
This route is predominantly through uneven, winding forest paths with lots of exposed tree roots so strong, supportive running shoes are essential. There are some hills which can get wet and muddy so trail shoes will help if you have them.
Please make sure you bring spare layers for the cold November weather and dress appropriately for the conditions.
The race will be chip timed using ResultsBase.
The timing chip is a blue loop that attaches to one of your trainers and will be sent out to entrants the week before the event.

Event Day Volunteer - whatever time you can join us at the event, there are many ways you can help out in this role. You could set up marquees, put out flags and banners, get water to the start line or hand out medals at the finish.
