Race For Life
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer.
Over the past 20 years, more than 8 million women have taken part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, raising over £547 million to fund the charity’s life-saving work. But it does not stop there.
In 2016 Cancer Research UK hopes that Race for Life will raise £50 million so that it can keep on fighting until cures for all 200 types of cancer, affecting men, women and children, are found.
There are lots of ways to be part of Race for Life:
5k (or just over 3 miles) is an achievable distance for all ages and abilities. You can take part however you like and choose to run, jog or walk your way around the course.
10k (or just over 6 miles) may sound a little daunting but is an achievable challenge for anyone with a bit of training. If you’ve taken on one of our 5k events before then this is a great distance to try and push yourself further.
Pretty Muddy events
Pretty Muddy® isn’t like any other fundraising event. It is a muddy obstacle course that women of any ability can climb over, crawl under, and charge through to show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink.
Half or full Marathon
The Race for Life Half and full Marathon events are the perfect challenge for women who have always wanted to try a long-distance running event but have been worried about how to start and not having any support.
Our events are not competitive so you can take part however you want - whether you run, jog or walk parts of the course, it’s up to you - and we'll be with you every step of the way.
Brand new for 2016! This September we are holding the first Race for Life Hiking event in the Peak District. If you love walking in the great outdoors and want to show cancer who’s boss then this is the event for you.
Sign up now and let’s show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink.
