Meet our Women of Influence
Cancer Research UK is delighted to be working with some inspirational women to help our Women of Influence initiative.
Meet some of our board members
Tamara Box - Chair, Women of Influence. Partner, Reed Smith
"I was delighted to be asked to chair Cancer Research UK's Women of Influence board for several reasons. My family has unfortunately experienced the devastation of cancer and I believe Cancer Research UK is making huge progress in understanding how we can beat this disease. Furthermore, my passion for ensuring gender balance in the workplace meant that this was the perfect initiative for me to support"
Dena Brumpton - Barclays, CEO, UK Private Banking
"It is my absolute privilege to join the board of Cancer Research UK's Women of Influence initiative. I look forward to contributing to the amazing work being done by the organisation to fundraise and affect policy to ultimately improve the lives of those living with cancer. In addition, I hope to leverage my business and life experience to provide mentorship to female scientists to help them realise their full potential."

Meet some of our Fellows
Dr Victoria Sanz-Moreno
Dr Victoria Sanz-Moreno at King's College London is investigating the biology of cancer spread, focusing on melanoma skin cancer cells. Victoria is getting involved with the Women of Influence initiative because she feels it will help her with situations in which men have traditionally succeeded in comparison to women, such as having maternity leave taken into consideration and presenting yourself as a competitive leader.
Dr Doryen Bubeck
Dr Doryen Bubeck at Imperial College London is looking at the intricate detail of why some patients develop resistance to cancer drugs so that we can design new ways around it and extend the usefulness of these drugs in treating cancer. She believes that getting involved with the Women of Influence initiative will help her manage her team and know how to increase strategically her academic profile as well as balance a family and career.
