General Election 2017

Making cancer a priority ahead of the election

What is the campaign about?

On Thursday 8 June there’s going to be a General Election. In the run up to this, we need your support to make sure as many election candidates as possible know about our 2 priorities – health and science.

Why take action in this campaign?

You can make sure cancer remains a priority for the new government so that we achieve our ambition of 3 in 4 patients surviving cancer by 2034.

To improve outcomes for cancer patients, the Government must:

  1. Reduce the burden on the NHS by tackling the 2 biggest preventable causes of ill health – tobacco and obesity
  2. Make sure we have enough staff to carry out cancer tests to help diagnose people earlier
  3. Make sure research is a top priority in Brexit negotiations

Email your election candidates today to make sure that all parties understand what they need to do to keep cancer at the top of the political agenda.
