How was the research strategy developed?
The research strategy which was launched in 2009, was developed through a combination of 'bottom-up' consultation with the research community and other stakeholders (the Science Plan review process), and a 'top-down' engagement of key leaders in the research community and senior Cancer Research UK staff through our scientific committees, the Scientific Executive Board (SEB) and the Science Strategy Advisory Group (SSAG).
Cancer Research UK would like to thank all those who participated in developing the research strategy through the science plan reviews.
The publication of our next 5 year research strategy is due in 2014 and we will again be working with our internal and external advisors to update our strategic ambitions in key areas of focus. If you have any questions on the development of our research strategy, please email the Research Strategy Unit.
