Scientific Executive Board
The role of the Scientific Executive Board (SEB) is to develop and implement the organisation’s scientific strategy and policy.
It is not a funding committee in the usual sense in that it does not issue calls for proposals, but it does hold a budget and can make decisions to fund large and/or strategically important initiatives which are generally peer reviewed though our funding committees.
SEB meets once every two months and is chaired by our Chief Scientist, Professor Nic Jones. Our Chief Executive - Harpal Kumar, and Chief Clinician - Professor Peter Johnson are also members along with a number of other Executive Directors. Scientific experts are also invited in to help inform discussion on particular topics.
The SEB interacts closely with the Council Research Strategy Committee and the executives also seek advice on matters of science strategy and policy from the Science Strategy Advisory Group.
