About the Bobby Moore Fund

In memory of a football legend

Bobby MooreThe Bobby Moore Fund was set up by Stephanie Moore MBE in partnership with Cancer Research UK in 1993 to help raise money and awareness for bowel cancer research.

Stephanie established the Fund to honour her late husband Bobby Moore OBE, who sadly died from bowel cancer, aged just 51.

Bobby was undoubtedly one of the most respected and gifted footballers England has ever produced.

He remains the only man to have captained England to World Cup glory after leading his side to victory over West Germany in 1966. He is rightfully revered as one of football's all-time greats.

What we do

The Bobby Moore Fund raises money and public awareness for life-saving research into bowel cancer. It does this through a variety of fundraising events such as the Bobby Moore Fund Sports Ball, and International projects in Brazil and South Africa and of course, Run for Moore.

To date the Bobby Moore Fund has raised over £10 million for dedicated bowel cancer research. The funds are spent on essential bowel cancer research carried out by leading scientists working across the UK.
