Welcome Dumfries & Galloway Welcome to Relay For Life Dumfries & Galloway! Cancer Research UK Relay For Life has been taking place annually in Dumfries and Galloway since 2008. In the past two years, communities from across the region have raised a phenomenal £92,000 for Cancer Research UK - smashing their target of raising £75,000 over three years! Thank you, keep up the good work and please join us in 2010 for another unique and inspiring Relay For Life.
What is Relay Relay For Life is a unique fundraising event. It gives your community the chance to celebrate the lives of those touched by cancer and to raise money to bring hope for the future.

Fundraising before the day There will be many fundraising events taking place across the region and we encourage teams to stretch their imagination to think of new and unique fundraising events, as well as the fun, old faithfuls! Look out for fundraising events in your local papers. For fundraising ideas, please contact Anne Barclay.
 
On the day

Survivors lap of honour

Celebrate life, lead the opening lap at Relay For Life with fellow cancer survivors and be our guest of honour for the day. You are the inspiration behind Relay For Life and we want more and more people to walk with us each year to show that together we really are making a difference.
 

Candle of Hope

A time to give hope, celebrate, remember and reflect on why we're taking part in Relay For Life. Decorate and dedicate your own candle bag with personal messages and light a candle for the people you love who have been touched by cancer. Approx. 11pm Sat 17 July.
 

Entertainment and activities

There will a great carnaval atmosphere around the Relay track. Join us for live bands, dancers, quizzes, fundraising stalls, kids fun games and themed laps. There's something for everyone - come along, have fun, cheer on the teams and support Cancer Research UK.
