Welcome Relay For Life Supporters. Join us and help raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK Cancer Research UK Relay For Life, Cardiff would like to invite you to an inspirational and unforgettable fundraising event at the Millennium Stadium.
Each member of our committee has their own reason for taking part in Relay for Life. We, like many people, have been affected either directly or indirectly by cancer. We want to support the fantastic work of Cancer Research UK by hosting Cardiff's first Relay for Life. This non-athletic event sees local teams of friends, family, neighbours and colleagues walk around a track for 24 hours. Each team tries to keep at least one member on the track at all times, whilst all around them the party is in full swing. We can't think of a better and more fun way of raising money for this wonderful cause than Relay for Life and we really hope that you can be a part of it. Securing a venue and date for the event has involved a lot of time and effort, but now that we have this in place we really want as many people as possible to come along, have fun, pay tribute to those affected by cancer, and above all raise as much money as possible. It is a simple equation. More teams = more fun + more money for Cancer Research UK. So, what are you waiting for? Come and join us for a 24 hours you will never forget. 'Together we will beat cancer'.
What is Relay Relay For Life is a unique fundraising event. It gives your community the chance to celebrate the lives of those touched by cancer and to raise money to bring hope for the future.

On the day

Survivors lap of honour

Out of everyone attending Relay for Life, the cancer survivors are the most important. The opening lap will honour their courage and pay tribute to those who have fought cancer, to those who continue to fight, and to those who sadly lost their fight but will never be forgotten.
 

Candle of Hope

As the evening draws in, everyone gathers to light Candles of Hope and pay tribute to those whose lives have been affected by cancer. Bags are decorated and filled with a glowing candle. When the candles are lit, poignant messages of remembrance and celebration illuminate the track.
 

Entertainment and activities

Relay For Life is also a time for celebration! So throughout the whole event we will have a variety of entertainment for you. There will be some very special guests, bands, live performance, and plenty of other activities for children young and old! So let's put the 'Fun' in Fundraising!
