Employee fundraising partnerships

In May 2005, employees at Wilkinson voted overwhelmingly for Cancer Research UK to be their first ever Charity of the Year.
Wilkinson operate 270 stores across the country and during the partnership they encouraged staff and customers to help raise funds for our research.
Smashing fundraising targets
The enthusiasm and commitment of the 250,000 Wilko's team members was fantastic. They smashed their £250k target and raised £281,000 over the year.
As well as taking part in many of Cancer Research UK's own fundraising events, Wilko's team members organised a whole host of different fundraising events across the country. They included events such as sponsored walks, dress down days, raffles and quizzes.
They also involved their customers in the partnership by selling pin badges and holding collections in store.
